Junior Designer / Design Associate
Farrington Lane – Austin, TX

Farrington Lane is a boutique interior design studio based in Austin, Texas, focused on creating layered, collected homes rooted in traditional design principles and personal storytelling.

We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our team and support multiple residential projects from concept through installation. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience in an interior design or related field who is eager to deepen their understanding of the full design process and and is passionate about using creativity and beauty to improve lives.

This is a hands-on, in-person role working closely with the Principal Designer in a collaborative, detail-oriented studio environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, and materials based on direction from the Principal Designer

• Prepare and organize design presentations and selections

• Support client communication and meeting preparation

• Coordinate samples, vendors, and basic procurement tasks

• Track orders, timelines, and project details

• Assist with site visits and installations

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in an interior design, architecture, or related field

• Strong organizational skills, task execution, and attention to detail

• Clear and professional communication style

• A proactive mindset and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, or similar)

This is an in-person position based in Austin. We are a small, high-touch studio and are looking for someone who is thoughtful, dependable, and excited to grow within a design-driven environment.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
