Farrington Lane is seeking a Studio Manager to support the operational and organizational needs of our growing interior design studio. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, relational, and excited to help bring structure and momentum to a creative environment.

The Studio Manager will work closely with the Principal Designer to help oversee project coordination, procurement workflows, client communication, scheduling, studio operations, and the continued development of internal systems and processes. This position plays an important role in helping projects move smoothly while creating the organizational infrastructure that supports a growing design practice.

We are looking for someone who brings steadiness, initiative, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to a fast-moving residential design studio.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relations & Project management:

  • Assist with prospective client inquiries and scheduling intake calls

  • Help coordinate client meetings, presentations, and project calendars

  • Document meeting notes, project decisions, and next steps

  • Support ongoing communication with clients, vendors, contractors, and workrooms

  • Help maintain project timelines and track outstanding tasks

  • lead preparing preliminary FF&E budgets and pricing documentation

  • Support contract administration, invoicing coordination, and expense tracking

Procurement & Project Management:

  • Create and maintain FF&E schedules and procurement documentation

  • Coordinate sample orders and maintain organized materials libraries

  • Prepare pricing sheets and purchasing proposals for client review

  • Support purchasing workflows including order placement, tracking, expediting, and troubleshooting

  • Coordinate with receivers, vendors, and installers regarding deliveries and logistics

  • lead installation preparation and onsite coordination

  • Help ensure project information remains organized and up to date across platforms

Studio Operations:

  • Maintain organized project files and shared drives

  • Assist with software administration and workflow organization

  • Help manage studio calendars, scheduling, and operational logistics

  • Support vendor and trade account administration

  • lead photoshoot preparation, sourcing, and styling coordination

  • Help improve and maintain internal systems and studio organization

Team & Administrative Support:

  • lead with onboarding and administrative support

  • Help maintain internal documentation and studio procedures

  • Support a collaborative, organized, and solutions-oriented team environment

Systems & Process Documentation

  • Document and maintain studio standard operating procedures (SOPs) across project management, procurement, client communication, and administrative workflows

  • Help ensure critical project and operational knowledge is documented and accessible rather than residing with any one team member

  • Maintain and update internal process guides, templates, checklists, and training materials

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and organization across the studio

  • Support the implementation and refinement of project management systems and workflows

  • Assist in creating repeatable processes that allow the firm to scale thoughtfully while maintaining a high-touch client experience

  • Help onboard and train future team members using documented systems and procedures

  • Promote consistency in project execution, communication standards, file organization, and procurement practices

Project Accountability & Workflow Management

  • Proactively monitor project progress and help ensure projects move forward in a timely manner

  • Maintain visibility on deadlines, client decisions, procurement milestones, and installation schedules

  • Track outstanding action items and follow up consistently with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members

  • Help identify potential bottlenecks, delays, or risks before they impact project timelines

  • Ensure project tasks are completed, documented, and communicated appropriately

  • Support the timely closure of project phases and completed projects

  • Maintain project management systems and workflows to provide clear visibility into project status and next steps

  • Help create accountability around deadlines, deliverables, and commitments across active projects

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in interior design, project management, studio operations, procurement, or administrative coordination

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Professional, warm, and client-service oriented

  • Strong problem-solving and time management abilities

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Houzz Pro, Ivy, Basecamp, Studio Designer, or similar systems is a plus

  • Appreciation for thoughtful residential interior design and creative environments

Farrington Lane is a boutique interior design studio based in Austin, Texas, focused on creating layered, collected homes rooted in traditional design principles and personal storytelling.
We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our team and support multiple residential projects from concept through installation. This role is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of experience in an interior design or related field who is eager to deepen their understanding of the full design process.

This is a hands-on, in-person role working closely with the Principal Designer in a collaborative, detail-oriented studio environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, and materials based on direction from the Principal Designer

  • Prepare and organize design presentations and selections

  • Support client communication and meeting preparation

  • Coordinate samples, vendors, and basic procurement tasks

  • Track orders, timelines, and project details

  • Assist with site visits and installations

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in an interior design, architecture, or related field

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Clear and professional communication style

  • Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, or similar)

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn

This is an in-person position based in Austin. We are a small, high-touch studio and are looking for someone who is thoughtful, dependable, and excited to grow within a design-driven environment.
